Blue Mountain Center Application for 2024 Residencies 

Blue Mountain Center is a working community of writers, artists, and activists in the heart of Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.

Dates for the 2024 residency sessions are as follows: 

• Residency #1 – Friday, June 14 – Friday, July 12
• Residency #2 – Friday, July 19 – Friday, August 16
• Residency #3 - Friday, August 30 - Friday, September 27

Applications for the 2024 Residency Program must be submitted by February 1, 2024. Admissions Committee decisions will be made in late March and applicants will be notified immediately thereafter. 

Please note that the use of cell phones is prohibited in common spaces at Blue Mountain Center. There is an internet center but no internet access in the rooms or studios.

Spouses are not included in the invitation, although they may apply separately. Each applicant will be evaluated as an individual. 

Residents are permitted to attend a maximum of two out of every four years.

  In 2024 BMC will be accepting applications in the following categories:

•  Activists
•  Filmmakers
•  Visual Artists (Including Photographers)
•  Writers (Fiction, Nonfiction, Playwriting, Poetry)
• Composers
